Re: Unisex Names
Pashto names are typically not unisex. They're usually distinctly male or female. I can't really think of any that would be unisex other than "Gul."
There are a few Dari names that are unisex:
- Arya (although people do tend to make it distinctly male or female by adding an –n for boys (“Aryan”) or –ana for girls (“Aryana” or “Ariana”)
- Dilshad
- Nima
- Ehsan/Ahsan

Re: Unisex Names
All sikh names are unisexual, unless inspired by hindu name, like mine
Indeed, it was made to equalize the genders in Sikhi considering the women were most under privileged in entire sub-continent.

Kaur, I'm a bit curious about something. I was aware that Sikh names are typically unisex but are there some names that more commonly used for girls or boys?
The reason I ask this is that I've observed that certain names are most commonly used in one of the sexes. For example, all of the Jaspreets I've met are female and most Harminders I've met are male. Also, I have a female friend named Harminder and she commented that there have been occasions when she's arrived for job interviews and the interviewer was surprised she's female as he seems to have been expecting a guy.
Re: Unisex Names
Noshad is also unisex name.
It's funny you should say that because thats her brother's name! :D
I had no idea all Sikh names were unisex either..
