i went to a public high school here in toronto area..we had gray pants, white shirts, blue sweaters, black/blue socks, black shoes.....ahhh....thank god i dont have to wear that again....jeans baby!
highschool backhome had blue-white checkers and gray trousers, gray sweater, black shoes, gray socks and sundays were all white. military portion was junior brigade karachi's uniform that had too many things to list (in short, pak army uniform).
uniform disclipned us.. efforts were put in to keep it clean, and time was spent to iron it..
Suit and tie, with school-branded blazers and ties. Black trousers, white shirt obligatory. Socks had to be nazy, black, or grey. Black leather shoes obligatory.
Uniform was a great idea. In a school that emcompassed everything from working-class to upper class students, uniform imparted an equality to us all.
white shalwar, white kamiz with blue collars, a blue monogram pocket and a blue sash worn across the chest tied with a pin. and two badges, one indicating my class level and one for a assembly category (yellow, blue, red etc)
shiny black mary janes and white socks. no jewellery/makeup allowed and only white/black or blue headbands allowed.
Kindergarten: frilly lacy dresses with matching hair clips, nail polish, tights, and mary janes sometimes salwar kameezes.. sometimes a uniform of a light blue round-collar blouse and navy blue pleated skirt with matching shoes..
First til 8th grade: a jumper, with a yellow round-collar blouse, yellow/navy blue grey plaid tie :yukh: and navy tights
And in High school, a white polo shirt and white knee socks, black shoes, and blue pleated linen CATHOLIC SCHOOL SKIRT !
