Unforgettable incidents

A couple of months ago I was walking all alone, through a path near the jungle, early in the morning just after morning namaz. I saw nearly 7-8 wild dogs (approximately the size of wolfs) going in a group towards my way. Their sharps teeths were visible from their open mouths as they seemed to be in serach of food. When they saw me, they ignored me and kept searching. But as they were in my way and there was no other short route, I had to pick a stone to scare them so that they may move away from my way. Usually when there used to be one dog alone, it used to move away from my path, BUT I was unaware that their is something called “Group psychology”. They all started barking and running towards me. I was shocked. I knew if I run, they would bite me, so I remained where I was standing. One of them jumped at me and I tried to punch it, but it immediately moved away its face. Within few seconds they all surrounded me and I lost my balance and fell on the ground. Suddenly it was complete darkness in front of my eyes. Unintentionally the following came out of my mouth “La ilaha ilAllah” (There is no deity (worthy of worship) but (the One) Allah) I heard their voice moving away and when I opened my eyes I felt that some force pushed them aside and they all started runing away as if they saw something. I thought someone came to rescue me, but when I looked around, there was none around me. But at a certain distance I saw an old man who was yelling at me as if he was angry at me for using that path.

That night I decided to return to my hostal from the main road, because I thought that those dogs might get alert from my smell if I go through the short cut again. Unforttunately there were very few people around (as it was quite late) and guess what!! I saw those dogs searching for meal in the Dustbins and other waste material that was placed near the road. I was coming from their back side so I thought I should change my path before they see me, but they raised their heads suddenly as if they smelled something. They moved their heads back in a flash. When they saw me they all started walking towards me without making any voice. I remained in my position with my hands in the pocket and started reciting the verses of Quran which were coming to my mind. They passed near me sniffing as if they were going to see if my attitude is agressive or not. And then they left me.

From that time onwards I used to feel a cold chill whenever I passed by any dog. But by the grace of Allah I have overcomed it to some extent and am feeling better now.

you shouldnt have picked up a stone because 99% of time the dogs woudl leave you alone, but when you picked a stone this threatened the dogs, and animals only act out when they feel threatened. that being said, that was a nice inspirational story, God's hand helped you out :)

Also never look aggressive animal in the eyes, they take it as challenge.

Rabid dogs kill three children

NOWSHERA: Three children, including a girl, have died in Rashakai and Khorabad villages of the district and 20 others have been admitted to hospitals after being bitten by rabid dogs in the past 48 hours. Pervez Khan, a resident of Rashakai village, lost his lone son, Adnan, while a 10-year-old son of another villager, Sher Bahadur, died in Khorabad. A six-year-old girl died in Bajauri Koroona of Rashakai. All of them were bitten by rabid dogs, while more than 20 persons were admitted to hospitals, where some of them were stated to be in critical condition. Locals said that about 40 dogs have gone mad and bitten a number of people, livestock and other dogs. The residents have been advised not to consume meat, as it might be infected due to dog-bites.

I wish muncipality in these areas would take care of is this problem.

^^ so true..I know euthanization is considered wrong for controlling the population...then at leat nuetaring wouldnt be too bad

j/k i know what u are saying, i just think that both have to go together to solve shortterm and long term problems

Fraudz, I think Amber is saying that too many dogs alot of which are stray dogs in Pak, need to have their numbers controlled. This is why when one dog goes mad, by the next day there will be five, and so on.

I have come face to face with a rabid dog while on Holiday in Pakistan, I had to look for safety by climbing up an electric pylon,(I'd prefer being electrocuted then be savaged by a mad dog) and it went and attacked our dog, and it disappeared, while our dog had to be shot.
