lol, its sweet to hear you getting excited about it! I know what it feels like, but I sort of switch of whenever my parents talk about my wedding etc, so left most of it to my mum, i don’t mean to sound ungrateful though, because alhumdulillah my parents went to so much effort and on the whole it was lovely, my mum bless her, said take this as a practice for your wedding, lol. And yes of course your family will want to make it special for you! That sounds like a good idea for rings. My parents bought a diamond one for the engagement, so I don’t really know what they will do for the wedding because of the no gold for men thing?
Hmmm, I don’t know about mitthai, because his family brought quite a lot of it but my family didn’t have it at the actual engagement, but instead gave it out in gift boxes after (kind of like favours I guess). But a cake would be a good idea! (These are the two things i regret no cake and I wanted a lehnga, lol) My aunts thought it was too hot for a cake, plus they don’t taste right in Pakistan, so we didn’t have one, but I think it would have been nice.
Yes, a pink lehnga is what i wanted! I had even imagined what shade of pink it would be, lol, have you seen one in the shops yet? I don’t think you need to worry about looking over done, how many guests are you having? I think I got lucky with my set, as it does seem to be that a lot of really pretty sets don’t seem to have tikka. The only alternative would be to wear really heavy earrings and tikka, and maybe get a kind of matching chain like necklace to go with it? If not, it doesn’t really matter if you don’t have one!
Aww, i wanted to walk in with my brother, as at most weddings the bride seems to walk in with her female cousins, so I wanted to do this with my brother!

Ya.. I tend to zone out any future plans but I always tune in when event planning occurs because that is what I love to do! only, not for myself. You dont sound ungrateful!! That is wonderful.. I am glad things are turning out lovely for you. I wonder if platinum counts as gold.. I am so unfamiliar with jewelry.. I only like nlong dangly earings, tika, and churiyaan (which are not gold lol). Perhaps, you can just put the same ring on again… Guys dont look good in too much jewelry (in my opinion). Or you can get another one and sell the old ring. You can even get little diamonds put into a silver ring. I am not sure if wearing silver is allowed for guys.
I am really sick of cake because they taste oh so good in US and we have to eat it at birthdays, weddings, parties, Christmas, etc.. Thats why I wanted mithai because its rare here but it does get costly.
I really love tikka.. thats a good idea.. I never like wearing necklaces because they give me a rash.. so I can just wear earrings and tikka.. oh ur so helpful!!
I think I will have 100-150 guests depending on whether the out of town guest will be coming or not.
I have no female cousins or sisters so walking in with my brother works perfectly for me.
