to be fair, the criticism has always been that there are elements in these agencies that are sympathetic to the Taliban - not the complete organizations.
what they really should be criticized for imo is their incompetence. if we are supposed to have such active and strong agencies, then where are their intelligence reports? why do we have so many casualties when it is the job of these agencies to keep tabs on these terrorist elements.
the reason why they dont know what these Taliban are up to is because theyre too busy investigating shady oil and gas deals and corruption charges against a democratic govt. if they were focusing on their real job, then maybe we wouldn`t have seen what we have seen in the recent past.
