The international media has specially and our local media generally has unduly criticised intelligence agencies of being corrupt or secretly aiding Talibs. But looking bak at events since 2007, i see that they have been the main targets of terrorism, soecially ISI and FIA. Tens of them have died in these attacks and Al-Qaeda has repeatedly asked its networks to attack them.
This so unfair to criticise them, i feel. Trying to bringup their past connections with Talibs is also not correct, for they were just doing what the government policy was at that time. They follow what their commands tells them to do. These are not rouge agencies but very important instituions whom should not bashing targets.
Where there is smoke there is fire. Burden of proof is on ISI to show that it has cut its links with jihadi groups. Until such time its role will continue to be scrutinized as it should. **
