Re: Unexpected guests
I freeze pieces of chicken cut flat so they defrost quicker in the microwave-so if I did need to cook a handi the defrosting shouldn't take that long.

Re: Unexpected guests
normally it's freezer based snacks like kebabs, samosas, rolls, tikkiyan, patties, pastries cooked in the oven or fried..
along with some kind of sweet which i can make on the spot like halva, or maybe pull a cheesecake out with some biscuits and chai...
nothing too extravagant as it takes time to prep stuff like that! I normally add some nuts and dried fruits too inc bombay mix that sorta thing...
Re: Unexpected guests
I even have carrot halva frozen for emergencies! I'm a freezer freak.
Re: Unexpected guests
It depends wht time they r coming if it meal time I make sure they take lunch or dinner n whatever I have cooked I serve them I have always kebabs n rolls freezed once in last month of pregnancy I also ordered pizza for dinner though I had to listen a lot for tht pizza
I make sure my washrooms r clean n house is tidy but since baby is here she messes everything I dont mind her toys scattered n don't care bc those who have babies can u der stand this
Re: Unexpected guests
I had to get used to this so made sure to have a lot of things in the freezer ready to right away. My typical stash included mini cocktail samosas, shami kababs, qeema samosas, egg rolls, frozen parathay, cutlets, etc. I was caught off guard once and I felt so horrible about it I made sure I was always stocked up after that.
Re: Unexpected guests
What are egg rolls Reha?
Re: Unexpected guests
I keep frozen samosas and rolls in my freezer and if an unexpected guest comes I just serve them with tea.
