I agree with it being completely "Islamically Logical."
The ayat#10 of sura alay imran is directly addressed to each and every muslim, according to Dr. Israr Ahmad's explanation to the ayat in his program of Daura Tarjuma-e-Quran during Ramadhan in 1997.
THat is the duty....
Plus, it also comes under "Huqooq-ul-Ibaad" as we ask others to come to Islam to save them from hell fire, otherwise, we would be asked on the day of judgement. The incident of "People of sabt (or sabbath)" as mentioned in Quran further explains the idea as any old incidents in Quran are told for our guidance only.

I have read all that Dr. Ahmad has written. I feel it is nothing but a reproduction of Mududi’s presentation, which, unfotunately, I find to be incorrect, in the light of the explanation of the same verses, hadith and literature, by other scholars.

This is truly an interesting insight into the concept of Jihad, as perceived by the West. I quote Dr. Irsar Ahmad:
The word Jihad and the verb that goes with it mean to struggle against some opposition. (((((Thus, each and every human being is engaged in Jihad, in the sense that everyone has to struggle for his existence.))))) However, the kind of Jihad we are talking about should be qualified as fi Sabeel lillah, that is to say, trying and exerting one's utmost in the path of Almighty Allah. It is an earnest and ceaseless activity involving the sacrifice of physical and mental resources, wealth, property, and even life, only for the sake of attaining the pleasure Almighty Allah (SWT). <<<<
By this definition, the Israelis are engaged in a Jihad Fi Sabeel Lillah. They afterall wholeheartedly believe that the Land was promised to them by God. I thought only Muslims engaged in Jihad. I was wrong. With the same token, Indians are also engaged in Jihad in Kashmir, although a Jihad fi Sabeel al-Ram.
My personal belief is that this concept is outdated. Call it Survival, and don’t use the term Jihad in non-theological deportment or settings. Get on with the year Zero-Zero man. Let Dr Israr Ahmad live in the 6th century, because he feels comfortable living there (he does that for living!). What is preventing you to be current?

I really don't accept an answer on Islamic topic (here over Jihad) from a Qadyani/Ahmadi/Lahori, because Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadyani rejected the idea of jihad anyway.

You can never ever be in the state of Jihad by ignoring His ayaat, not believing in what He has sent, etc. etc.....

In terms of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Alaihe-Salam’s rejection of the concept of Jihad, I think that was praiseworthy. Otherwise you will see his followers taking up Guns to show you the money (Remember Prof. Abdul Salam? The guy who made the bomb??).
Your version of Jihad is much on display all over Pakistan, with unarmed worshipers being killed inside the mosques. Keep that for your self. I am sure, "your" Allah will be very pleased with you.

He has made enough Mula selling the books that he has written. Don’t tell me that he gives away his books for free. He is always on tour for this Tanzeem-e-Islam of which he is the president. How do you propose his org is financed? Do you think that he eats Dall-Channa everyday? Get real. By the way, read about why he resigned from Jamat-e-Islami. There are only a few idiots in Pakistan that match his stature.
