If God intervened then how can we have true 'freedom of choice' ??? Freedom of choice means we must face the consequences. Innocence does not give someone a ticket to a longer life ... every soul shall taste the flavour of death. Remember these points:
1) Every bad that befalls us is from ourselves, every good is from God (meaning that we are responsible somehow for our choices)
2) For those who are afflicted with hardship need to understand the test of patience and those facing happiness need to understand the test of thankfulness to God
3) For those innocent children and people who have left this world in a state of injustice then they will receive their justice in the Hereafter. What are we to know that they may not have been 'good' if they lived but by being killed by a murderer or natural disaster they may have earned their tickets to jannah.
Death in this world is a reminder for those who remain alive to be righteous and that those who lose young children what do we know about the state of the child? Rather we should look to the ones who have lost and help them and nuture them and mourn their loss with them and support them to pass their test of grief so that they do not fall in to despair. Death of a child means only life for that child in the hereafter, so what Wisdom will there be to intervene?
