what do you wear under lehenga?
Do you get churidaars stitched of the same colour and material?
or
do you simply wear any colour ke tights?
or
do you wear any pyjama underneath it?

**i didnt even realise people wear anything under their lenghas...idk why but i found that really weird :S
however i was in pak recently...and my cousin was getting married and when we were looking at her lengha, there was also a matching shalwar and i was like wth?? :O

but they told me its common....brides either have a churidaar, shalwar/pyjama or even skin coloured tights...

I always assumed everyone else wore just underwear under lehenga as well.. I'd be way too hot to bother with anything else.. also seems a bit weird and Victorian to me, I mean how many stupid layers do we need to be considered 'modest'? Not like men have x-ray vision, is it?

I wear opaque footless tights or leggings. I used to host desi talent shows and learned that bright lights can easily make desi clothing sheer. so tights or something was always a must. one girl didn't do that and well it was pretty embarrassing for her because she wasn't aware of it until the end of her performance. No one could havev warned her either bc you don't know what you're dealing with until those lights hit you. Also those same kinda lights are at weddings you'd be surprised at how many people are not wearing proper undergarments and what not for the lighting.

Just underwear usually. The state I live in is usually very hot/humid so I can't even imagine wearing anything under it. Now if I'm in a place where it's super cold then I wear tights. I've been to plenty of wedding and seen the pictures afterwards and never had a problem with the outfit being "see through" b/c of lighting. I suppose it might be different during a professional performance or if the lehenga material itself is light....but otherwise, don't see the need for one more layer underneath.
