In one swoop of a thread we seem to have climbed up the ladder of parental insults on GS from beta, beti, chanda to uncle and auntie. People who are older are calling the youngers ‘uncle’. People who themselves have confused gender associations are boldly bringing others out of the closet by labelling them as ‘aunty’. Add to the mix uncles being called aunties and aunties being called.. well, ok, still aunties.
This all is getting tamer by the minute. As if beta beti were not lame enough already, we had to stoop to this level of decency? I call for the revival of old tradition of gali gloch. The old ways of referring to someone as any one of the anatomical body parts (and thankfully they are plentiful not just handful).
I know for sure some have even taken that to next level of creativity and have named body parts after nicks on GS. Talk about reciprocal thinking. For example, Pinna knows Thap and CM on lot more personal basis than what they like to be. He claims every time he scratches Thap, CM turns blue out of jealousy. Madhanee carries around Lajjo like a big gun. Chann ji wishes he could have more of a body to cover all bases not just the nicks. These are sick individuals, yes, but their affliation and devoution to GS in various ways of expression remain undeniable. Barring them from what only they know, and know it best is being ungrateful.
So before Pinna goes through the pains of switching Thap and CM to aunty A & B, all without an uncle, I propose to end this nonsense and have the words uncle and auntie bleeped out and have bleeped-outs back to the limelight.
Some of you have too much time on your hands, don’t you? Do you really think it matters to others? Unless of course if you are merely seeking attention.
Uncle Roman, I think its a title implying respect not the other way around, then again I am very naive (all guppies tell me this, specially in the world forum) and am still trying to understand the GS thought process.
