MAJ’s health was a well kept a secret from everyone before the partition. had Gandhi known this fact, he would probably have delayed partition and it may not have even happened. Gandhi was a shrewd politician…he most likely knew, i guess, that after Jinnah, the Pakistan movement would die down thus avoiding partition.

This could be true for Nehru not Gandhi. Gandhi was most sympathetic to Indian Muslims, he though the whole idea of partition very flimsy and was of belief that soon these two nations would merge.

It was a phenomenally well kept secret. The British were secretly hoping for Gandhi to die. But what a wonderful record of loyalty and empathy shown by doctors who treated Jinnah and kept his illness a great secret.
But this book just proves that not all great leaders are surrounded by great men. Imran Khan is no exception.
