Last Friday, there was a huge Blizzard in Toronto.
My car’s tires are really worn out and there was 1-2 feet high snow drift. So it was extremely dangerous to drive especially with my tires which have no traction.
So I was unable to drive to the mosque and pray there.
^ I do not know the technical stuff but for me, Islam is a very natural religion. What you did is better than hitting someone on the way to the mosque or getting injured yourself. I am sure God would forgive you for not reaching the mosque more happily than reaching the mosque and parking your car in a way that blocks others'.

Narrated Abdullah bin Al−Harith: Once on a **rainy muddy day**, IbnAbbas delivered a sermon in our presence and when the Mu'adh−dhin pronounced the Adhan and said, "Haiyi ala−s−sala(t) (come for the prayer)" IbnAbbas ordered him to say 'Pray at your homes.' The people began to look at each other (surprisingly).
Ibn `Abbas said. "It was done by one who was much better than I (i.e. the Prophet or his Mu'adh−dhin), and it is a license.'

**Bk. 11: Call to Prayers (Adhaan)**
*Sahih Bukhari *
A religious leader is at a certain place trying to preach to people, and he makes some people mad and they try to go after him, putting his life at risk.
Should he stay there striving in the way of his religion, or should he leave to go to a safer place?

He should go to a safer place if his life is in danger there is nothing wrong in saving your life

I prayed at home instead.
Is it ok what I did or no?
MC 2K,
You did good, as so many bros and sis have already posted here.
What I'm worried about is not so much of Friday prayer, but the bald tires on your car.
Are you that down these days that you can't afford few hundred dollars to buy new tires.
How do you get to work? Public transport may be.
Didn't mean to probe your financial situation. Just wondering that one of the most enlightened posters is having such a hard time in this bad economy.
