Yes they should. The problem is that for many people Hajj is not something they do out of fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam but because they see it as a status symbol. Once you have Haji with your name, all your activities become unquestionable.

I have to disagree with that. If people are doing the wrong things in terms of careers, people who would look down on their careers before they did Hajj would do the same even after.

As for the initial question, they should look for a career change even before they decide to do Hajj. From what I’ve heard, if Hajj is done on haram earning, the blessings for Hajj with not be earned by the person doing.
