The Sudanese government and the Janjaweed militia didn’t commit genocide in the war-torn region of Darfur, a UN-appointed panel said in a report.
The new report, however, stated that Khartoum and the Janjaweed militia are responsible for mass killings, abuse, rape and other atrocities in Darfur that deserve the trail of suspects in the International Criminal Court at The Hague, which prosecutes war crimes.
The panel’s ruling signals a possible showdown with the United States which opposes refering the Darfur case to The Hague and wants the trials to be held elsewhere.
**While Washington labeled the violence in Darfur as genocide, the UN-appointed panel of five lawyers said in its report, released on Monday, that there isn’t any clear evidence of “genocidal intent” against the civilians in Darfur. **
Looks like the Amerikkkan Government owes Sudan an apology but being the arrogant state the the US is i doubt very much they know what the word apology even means!
Hundreds of thousands killed, raped, tortured and displaced and you talk semantics. Do you find some solice in the labeling of the attrocties? Do you feel all warm and fuzzy now? Talk about your pigs and monkeys. Sickkk!
^ Don't worry its the usual spin and nonsense they always come out with even with the UN clearing sudan of genocide they saying opposite just shows they can't accept the truth even when it slaps them in the face!
Now UN is good…when it places sanctions on Iraq against Shia and Kurd killers, it is bad. Well UN is now going to get into Khomeni’s ass to stop Iran from destroying itself, it has all my support. UN Zindabad.
Now UN is bad when it opposes US’s preemptive attack on a sovereign nation. But it was good when it was bullied by US and forced to place sanctions on Iraq, resulted in killing millions of Iraqis due to starvation and lack of medicine.
Madhanee, it's a sine wave with these Arab lovers. I am convinced that even if Allah(swt) picked the Ummah and gave them Carte Blanche access to Heavan .
Example: OH Allah (swt) well the river of milk is good but why is it that Jews in the other section have low fat river and we don't, or you know these 72 virgins are wonderful but you didnt give us Viagra, Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the virgins start complaining about Livetra(being in the company of complainers)
Summun, Bukkmun Quumun
P.S I have a meeting at 1:30 -2:30pm so what time do you want to go for kebabs and Kosher beer? PM me.
Bhai logo, whatever you name it, its horrible. We as Muslims need to stand up and say it. No more violence in the name of Islam. For God's sake other countries have offered to help, where are all the Muslim nations to help out the people(their own) in need. Lets not try to prove a pont over the deaths of so many innocents.
Haha ak47 says the U.S. owes Sudan an apology, what a jackass! Thanks for the laugh Ak47, only you can take such a situation and make it absurd .
Annan stressed the report’s conclusion that “the crimes against humanity and war crimes that have been committed in Darfur may be no less serious and heinous than genocide.”
Kaleem, first of all it wasn’t in the name of Islam. That’s what the UN report says. I know what happened was very tragic but western media and Islam haters on this forum are trying to blame it on Muslims and giving it a name of ethnic cleansing. It was a tribal conflict not religious. The truth is that these idiots don’t give a rat’s ass about the people of darfur. They don’t have any sympathy for victims. They are using this tragedy to carryout their own agenda.
Here is daufur 101:
1.The Sudanese government does not have enough control in the region of Darfur, and has not sent enough forces to the area for protection.
There is a problem between the tribes that live on agriculture, and the tribes that live on herding. The green region is now facing desertification and scarcity of water that has led this problem to start appearing. The tribes that live on agriculture and those that live on herding both are fighting over the land. In 1960, the system of sultanates in Sudan came to an end. So a security problem evolved, and armed gangs appeared. This led to the formation of militias for each and every tribe. Thus each tribe began to try to obtain arms from abroad.
Rebels started to appear that tried to control the region, which forced the Sudanese government to provide weapons to the nearest group in order to secure the region. The Sudanese government, was of course, involved in the situation in the south of Sudan, and had no other means to protect the Darfur region other than to do this. This led to the appearance of the Janjaweed.
There are no proper development projects in the region.
The forces supported by the Sudanese government, the Janjaweed, due to their misuse of their power, resulted in the displacement of a large number of tribes living on agriculture to refugee camps.
This story has frequently recurred in Sudan along the years. Tribes in this region in Sudan frequently fight with each other. So the situation is not a new one in the region, nor is it one unheard of.
What other countries are you talking about? Did US or any other non-muslim country send its troops to stop the murders of innocent muslims and Christians in darfur. Yes muslims, another lie western media and islam haters on this forum tell you that all Christians are getting killed by the hands of muslims. But the fact is that equal number of muslims were killed.
^^ AS you might want to add oil in the southern parts of Sudan to your Darfur 101. It's all about the North controlling Oil. And it is about Muslims. The south of Sudan is Xtian and North is Muslim.
^If it was about the oil then USA would be the first one to send it’s “help”, but it didn’t. Believe in whatever you want to believe but it’s not going to change the facts.
