**Islamabad: ** Osama bin Laden was involved in former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto’s assassination and the perpetrators of her murder have been identified, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has claimed.

Al-Qaeda chief bin Laden, killed in a US raid on May 2, was involved in Bhutto’s killing in 2007, Malik told reporters at the parliament house yesterday.

He said since the matter was in court, he would not comment any further.

“The assassins and perpetrators of Benazir Bhutto’s murder have been identified. Some have been arrested while others have been declared proclaimed offenders. If the (Pakistan People’s Party) leadership will allow it, I will disclose who they were, where the plan was prepared and how they came to Rawalpindi,” he said.

Asked about the recent transfer of the judge who was hearing the case against five persons charged with involvement in Bhutto’s killing, Malik said the government had nothing to do with the matter as the posting of judges was decided by judiciary.

Malik and truth? That would be qayamat I think. Now Rahman Malik can safely pass the blame to OBL because he is dead, when he was alive the reports were kept in a safe place.

You are right at present position but President Zardari and Rehman Malik are responsible for all mishaps in this investigation. RM is playing the main role for not allowing investigators to reach to the real culprits.

Zulfiqar Mirza keeps on blasting those who he thinks sold the blood of Benazir Bhutto. **

Former Senior Minister Sindh Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has said that government should tell the nation who was behind the killing of Benazir Bhutto, who did the blast and who was responsible for negligence in security arrangements.

Speaking at a public rally at Hyderabad on Sunday he said that sycophants and timer servers are busy in blackmailing President Zardari and he doesn’t lend an ear to any piece of good advice given by his sincere friends.

“If I have to kill 10,000 men for the reverence and respect of Sindh , I would not avoid it. I would expose the black deeds of five corrupt provincial ministers very soon”, Mirza added.

He said he always saw those leaders of PPP with anger who soled BB’s blood .Qaim Ali Shah, Siraj Durrani and Manzoor Wasan should not forget the fact if they are enjoying the high slots , it is by virtue of the blood of great Benazir Bhutto. They have not any worth without using her name. Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq who was in exile in London, but Benazir Bhutto supported him financially for the education of his children.

“When I saw President Zardari he was surrounded by the flatterers’ group, so I tied up my belt to save Sindh. The valiant people of the province are standing with me and they would not let anybody to deal on the interest of Sindh”, he added.

He said that restoration of Commissionerate System in Sindh and failure of the government to bring back Nazims is not his success alone but it is the victory of the people.

Mirza said that protests are being held against him in Hyderabad and it is the matter of shame that here PPP has not even 25 workers.

He said that he gave away about 0.3 million arms licenses during his tenure as provincial home minister just to safeguard the dignity of Sindh province.

He was of the view that those who are supporting MQM, actually belong to anti Islamic and anti state group. “I pay tribute to Pir Pagara who never compromised on principles. He said MQM is blackmailing President Zardari and workers of PPP are sick of picking up the dead bodies of their companions and dear ones.

The role of quaid e awam saani is quite suspicious in Benazir's death, I dont think we will ever know the truth of the killing. How many people of you would benefit the people who should have been amongst the prime suspects in the killing of your wife (in this case Babar Awan and Rehman Malik)? Even the loyalists like Zulfiqar Mirza are questioning the role of these individuals (ZM has remained as interior ministed of Sindh so I guess he knows more than us).

Secondly the person who was amongst the accused in killing Murtaza Bhutto, Suddle has remained on a responsible position during this government's tenure. Doesnt that ring a bell? hello???

**RAWALPINDI: **Close to four years since the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, legal proceedings on the matter have finally seen some headway.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) **in Rawalpindi indicted seven men on Saturday in a case pertaining to the murder of the former premier.
**Since the murder, a number of investigative reports, including one each by the United Nations and Scotland Yard, had been compiled on the incident, but no formal legal charges had been framed.
The indictment means that the case will now formally move on from the investigation stage and into full-fledged legal proceedings against the seven men. However, some high-profile names have not been included.
The indictment itself has taken several months, most of which have been spent on the indictment of two high-ranking police officers, and on trying to summon former president Pervez Musharraf.
**The two police officers have now been charged with changing the security plan in place for Benazir on the day she was slain.

**Aside from the police officers, five militants also face charges of being involved in the December 27, 2007, gun and bomb attack that killed 24 people and injured 71 others outside Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh.
Saturday’s hearing was held behind closed doors in Rawalpindi by Special Judge of ATC-I Shahid Rafique.
**“They have been charged with conspiracy as well as abetment in the murder,” Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali, a government prosecutor, told Reuters.
**
The five militants were charged with “criminal conspiracy” for bringing the suicide bomber from the tribal areas to Rawalpindi where he carried out the attack, another prosecutor Mohammad Azhar told Reuters.
The police officers, former Rawalpindi city police officer Saud Aziz and Superintendent of Police Khurram Shahzad, were charged with breach of security by “changing the security plan for BB [Benazir Bhutto]”, Azhar added.
All the seven accused, including Hasnain Gul, Rafaqat Hussain, Rasheed Ahmed and Aitzaz Shah, pleaded “not guilty” and decided to contest the charges, while Sher Zaman refused to sign the charge sheet against him.
