Re: UN blames Musharraf govt for BB’s murder
This is an absurd case against Musharraf, as much as I differ with the guy. PPP (Rehman Malik) had assumed control of Benazir’s internal perimeter security, despite having been offered security by the government. External perimeter was manned by the government, and Benazir was told to stay away from crowds and jalsas because of specific threats against her. There was nothing else the govt could have done at that time. It was she who refused to listen to the govt’s advice, and it was her personal security that failed her. Musharraf had nothing to do with her death. This is just to appease Bilawal’s stupid statement to CNN about Musharraf being Benazir’s killer.
The sympathy factor is driving this trial, nothing else. Shame on PPP for cashing in on Benazir’s death.
