My mom was telling me about how this movie is based off of this one book by some old Indian author (Mirza Hadi Ruswa). I’m usually not much into Indian movies, mainly because I hate how they try being all modernized wearing Western clothes and trying to speak English without an accent.
Anyways, I watched some short clips from this movie on the internet and I think it’s worth watching. Does anyone know anything more about it or when it comes out?
P.S. Aishweriya Rye looks soooo pretty in this film. =)
P.S.S. Abishek looks chubbier! I found him to be more handsome in Bunty Aur Babli.

Yes…Aish looks hot in *this *movie. Yes it’s based on the novel. About a tawaif and her story. There has been another movie previously starring Rekha, and the songs from that are just divine
Did i mention Abhishek is hot too? though i found it funny that after he mentioned that he was a pathan, he started wearing pathanish clothes. Especially in that song.
That was one baykaar movie, i expected so much better from it. They dragged it for too long and nothing much seemeed to had been takin place. Abhishek role was so not good, he was just there to be a pathan:halo: though i like the songs:) . top of it all, the movie didn even have good dialouges:snooty:
i likedddddddddd umrao jaan alot..i watched it in theater..it was fun..
but ppl who have seen the paki version of umrao jaan didnt think tht this umrao jaan is nothing compare to the old one..
Aish and abishek looked real good..and i dont wanna say anything else b/c i dont want to end up telling the wholee story!

Based on the reviews, I’m not watching this one - I know I’ll not like it wee bit cuz I recently watched the old Umraao Jaan for about the 5th time a couple of months ago and that movie still does not seem dated… it was just foolish to make a movie where people would compare Aish’s superficial acting to Rekha’s original spellbinding performance.
Does anyone know anything more about it or when it comes out?
