I just watched about 7 episodes of this drama. I have to say it’s great but…it’s hard to believe that they are showing all this in a Pakistani drama. Those of you who have seen it know what I am talking about.
And that girl playing the role of Umrao, looks gorgeous in most of the scenes. She resembles Noor Jehan’s granddaughter Sonia Jehan but don’t know if it is her or not. And that guys who is playing Nawab Sultan looks great too. Don’t know his name neither but I think he’s a model.

As Neera said, it was very hard to believe that they showed all that. It’s definitely not the type of drama that you’d wanna watch with your family (at least the first two casettes).
Nevertheless, it’s an excellent drama. Everyone did a great job! :k:
I also have it on 4 DVDs. I found it ok to watch it with your family.
My parents are lenient about this stuff, but they were saying how they got away with showing this in PK on TV.
Best adaption of the book till date. Aamna Bano playing Umrao definitly rocked. Loved Sadia Imam as the trampy Bismillah Jan. Song were great. Same goes for the acting of the rest fo the cast. The numeral guest appearances were also appealing.

This was a fantastic play. And Amna Bano as Umraao was just amazing. So were Faisal Qureshi and all the others.
I wish we could see Amna in more plays.
good quality DVDs. they’re well worth the 40 bucks. and this is coming from me - perhaps the cheapest person on the face of the planet. Amna Bano will blow you away. plus the songs are just lovely.
btw, Rukhsarbibi, google Amina Bano Aqeel… and see if the person on the facebook link looks familiar.
really enjoyed this drama when it was aired, i must say it was a much better adaptation then the indian remake with aishwariya, that was terrible. amina bano was very good in the play, it was a bold play but then the subject at hand was a very bold one too.
