yaar bhai sahab. I share your bewilderment, but by the dame token are we going to expect the saudis to change the 5 star hotels overshadowing haram shareef now to 2 star ones.
I am not disagreeing with you.
I find it tacky, but am not sure what is teh right mix there.
If the Imams of the Kaabah and the governer of Makkah make this a rule, then atleast the sale of expensive items might be limited.
But you are right, the Saudis who want to live it up even when they are at the house of Allah, would rather see a marble palace there then cheapen the hotels already contructed. A moot point at end I agree.
