Australia’s Simon Taufel and England’s Ian Gould will be the on-field umpires for the high-voltage World Cup semifinal between India and Pakistan in Mohali on Wednesday. New Zealand’s Billy Bowden will be the third umpire and Australian Rod Tucker the fourth umpire.

This is the same pair which officiated in Champion Trophy semifinal between Pakistan vs New Zealand and several decisions went against Pakistan. Later Taufel apologized to Umar Akmal for giving him out.

Now Ian Gould is quite a poor umpire having given horrible decisions in the past, many of these against Pakistan.

It will be important for Afridi to use the referrals wisely which he often does not.

Is this based on their bias against south asian countries in general when they play Eng, SA, Aus, NZ, or is this specific to bias against Pak?
