This is the same pair which officiated in Champion Trophy semifinal between Pakistan vs New Zealand and several decisions went against Pakistan. Later Taufel apologized to Umar Akmal for giving him out.
Now Ian Gould is quite a poor umpire having given horrible decisions in the past, many of these against Pakistan.
It will be important for Afridi to use the referrals wisely which he often does not.
Being Pakistani fan i can only speak for Pakistan because its Pakistans matches that i have seen. But i think even SL and India have complained about poor decisions by Ian Gould. Bangladesh were also at receiving end of poor decisons against England by aussie and kiwi umpires.
Frankly Asian coaches have not taken up the challenges. They should start by taking up smaller teams and work their way upwards. As for the umpires, i think asian boards are lax when it comes to dealing with white umpires. Asoka was quickly sidelined for his poor decisions and yet Daryl has not been.

Exactly my thoughts ..... harper is half blind yet on Asoka was removed ..... and to be honest Harper has History of poor decisions ..... the DRS only highlighted it but yet ICC isn't giving it a thought ..... just watch a few matches invloving Harper and Asian teams (especially Pakistan) and u'll notice what a big blunder this guy is
In addition to Asian board being lax, the western commentators are tougher when Asian umpires make mistakes - they beat it to death. While they look the other way for the most part when mistakes are made by western umpires. Exceptions are ther of course - this is my observation based on limited viewing of various matches.
