The one person on the field that sends shivers through me during a cricket match is Mr. Steve Davis. The index finger is ever on the ready when India bats, and safely tucked away when India is on the filed vs Australia or England. Forget the 50/50. Mr. Davis consistently award those to the opposition. In addition to blatant wrong decisions that he has consistently given against India.
That he is highly regarded by the powers that be - excluding the BCCI- shows where the real Power lies.
In the Umar Akmal decision, Mr. Davis left his imprint from off the field. But this time the opponent was neither Australia nnr England. The decision went India’s way.
I thing it was Saeed Ajmal and Sarfraz Nawab who responded to this decision stating Mr. Davis has consistently victimized Pakistan in the past.
Maybe India and Pakistan should make something of this. How this umpire can be highly regarded is the 8th wonder of the world.
