I would really appreciate some useful information and answer to my following questions.
1) Does a person really needs ummrah package offered through various travel agents? NO...you can go on your own...if you are a female then you need a maHram with you.
2) Can ummrah be performed without a guide/travel agents? YES, you can but with a guide [mo'allim] it can be easier.
3) Is it more economical to go with a travel agent? depends who you get your airfare from...i think you can get a cheaper fare online.
4) what are the minimum day required to perform ummrah?? you just have to perform certain rituals...it may take as few as a few hours.
5) How difficult it is to get ummrah visa for ramazan?? umra is NOT permitted during Ramadhan...you can NOT get a umra visa. it it's closed a month before and a monthe after the ramadhan, i think!
Please share all the info you think someone would need while planning ummrah during ramazan inshallah.

No as far as I know but you will have to get a umra visa in you are not residing in KSA and for that it's better to contact a travel agent who will make all the arrangements for you.

Yes ! You do not need a guide for Umrah. We did our Hajj without a guide. The travel agents are only responsiblele for your accommodation , travelling & food (if included) rest you will have to do yourself. I have seen groups among turkish , iranian people and from Pakistan Bohra community go in groups but they are not made by travel agents they are a result of a community.
3) Is it more economical to go with a travel agent?
Yes
4) what are the minimum day required to perform ummrah??
Once you are in Makkah 1 day is enough.
5) How difficult it is to get ummrah visa for ramazan??
My dad went with my dadi some 10 years back in ramazan it's not difficult but you won't get a nice accommodation , most probably it will be shared.

^ but travel agents actively advertise ummrah visa during ramazan, and I some ppl in my family used to go for ummrah in ramazan.
oops! sorry...i'm extremely sorry...YES, you are right...i mistook it for Hajj...you do get visa for umra during Hajj...sorry again*...it's during Hajj, umra visa is NOT given a monthe before and a month after the Hajj. *
as per my experience the minimum days offered by travel agents are 6 nights for both madina and makkah. So this much time you will have to spare. I did my hajj in 20 days package and umrah in 6 nights package.

Some travel agents are registered in Saudi Consulate/Embassy as 'Certified Legal travel agents for Hajj & Umrah packages. Their charges lil bit higher compairing to others but there services are always on standard. Accompanying them, u not only offers umrah but also visit many historical & sacred places (Ziyarat karna) in your group accompanying travel guider (imam). If u feel uncomfortable with an agent or feel their services wasn't at standard. Then u can complaint about them at saudi consulate where that travel agent will bear all expensive by his own to perform you Umrah or Hajj as compensation. The list can be obtained by calling/visiting the saudi embassy or consulate.
Other then registered travel agents will held no responsiblities (if any).
2) Can ummrah be performed without a guide/travel agents?
Yes. But it will be difficult for u to get accomodation near by area. Moreover if you would like to go for 'Ziyarat' of some places, the taxi drivers will charge you lot of amount.
3) Is it more economical to go with a travel agent?
Yes. The accomodation will be near to the Khana Kaaba. You can have ur separate room in hotel, All documents clearance responsiblity is on ur travel Agent. Travel agent will have their own means on trasport for visiting sacred places.

In the mid of Sha'ban till 1st Muharram you'll find difficulties to obtain umrah visa.

as long as you get your visa before hand performing umrah during ramzan is not a problem
visa are restricted one month before and after hajj..although if you have a valid visa you can still go but pakistan usually has the most restrictions so if you are else where it shouldnt be too difficult...
read as many books on umrah and the ziarat places before you go and try to learn a few of the dua's...
Its is not as daunting as it seems when you get there,we performed umrah with children age thru 6yrs to 15yrs and alhumdolilah we had an awesome time...mashallah
it was a 15 day trip with a tour group and we thoroughly enjoyed it...
