Well what you are saying is valid but those who say there is no ummah are trying to say, i think, that may be there should be one but there isnt any to the scale that we think it is. For example as you said its there upto the level of a masjid but as soon as it comes to self-interest, people will run over you to grab the first opportunity they see (even if its inside masjid etc). And thats where the problem starts.
So then the question is raised why Pakistanis have so much desire to form an ummah on universal level or to be a part of it, while rest of the nations are not just sleeping rather see most of us with so much contempt?! An ummah can only be formed from all sides of the world, 20-25 crores cant do nothing
