These days they are showing the main purpose of girl’s life is to get married and depend on husband which later don’t work out.

Most of the scripts including Umera Ahmed’s Daam, Maat, ZGH and now this Kankar revolves around a middle class girl getting married to upper class guy. ( Ammi se kaho mera rishta wahan karwae jis ghar main kitchen garden bun sake) type dialogues conveys that middle class is driven towards materiality. How many middle class girls end up marrying in upper class in reality? Today’s writers are definitely promoting centuries old dreams of Cinderella.

The mother asks if they can host the mehndi at sikandar's place because they have a bigger house or something. The mothers (sikandar and the college girl) are sisters I think.

I can't believe the beard on behroze sabzwari. And shoaibs mother has this god awful yellow dress that she has worn in atleast one other serial..atleast buy new clothes for the dramas. These production houses use and re-use everything. Fahad mustafa looks old and boring. Tired of the same old cake-pastry makeup on him. And what's up with the Oxford sweaters? Jeez. All he needs are some suspenders. Sanam baloch is so selfish, she keeps talking about shoaibs wedding in front of her sister, knowing that she has a soft corner for her. Oh well, like someone said earlier nothing else is on that night anyway:)

i too thought that dialogue was ridiculous and not characteristic of the essence of the drama…

Lately, Umera has come up with strange dialogues like dialogues about Nazimabad in ZGH. Come on! do write scripts of rich families and give dosage to viewers from Fazail e aimaal, but don't show characters from middle class whose lives revolve around dreams to be part of rich families and posh areas. Most of the Nazimabad walas are not in any complex against Defence walas and majority of middle class don't dream of marrying in upper class just for wealth.

Maybe its because of the class divide. look at Khirad and Kashaf, both seem to embody the 'poor victimized class' while the villain embody 'rich exploiting class.

becuase PTV is producing stuff worse than 80s Punjabi movies nowadays. In fact, its not producing anything but buying stuff which is rejected by other channels.

what is so bad about dreaming of marrying a rich spouse???
first of all any entertainment medium is meant to be an escape route from reality. second, her female character are as strong as the male ones. atleast her script talks more about sharing burden/equality than James bond movies, where bond girl is only a filler.
third, all her female characters are well educated and all the education they got made them realize that they should not settle for guys who are more than just a BA pass.
