Prime is showing this Sadia Imam starrer independent one episode play on monday. And it’s on one really horrible incident that happend this year in Pakistan. Yeah, i’m talking about the gang rape of mukhtara bibi on the order of panhayet.
I figured it would be based on that incident...or some other panchaayat incident...
Let me know how it turns out - i probably wont get to watch it.
it was a bit inaccurate, but i can understand the sensitivity of the subject and why the family probably didn't let them portray the characters exactly the way they were. But still the scene in which punchait orders the gang rape of the girl sent shivers down my spine.
Also, only part of the script was based on Mukhtaran Bibi incident the rest was actully tackling women role, poor rising to rich landlords and all.
Sadia Imam was goon in her role. Nice play on the whole.
Yes the play was pretty good....Its good drama makers are taking such subjects and getting them to the public...That sure was a horrible incident :(

my dad just walked in to watch tv when they were showing that panchayat scene..i wish i had changed the chanel before it..it made my uncomfertable
