Umar Sayeed's outfits are so unique!
I was recently browsing the Facebook page and decided to get some more information to see what these "sky high" prices actually are lol. I was shocked when they said the formals alone start at $1000. I also asked about a couple of the outfits posted above like the navy blue/pink and the black/purple. They quoted me around $3500 for both, and that blue/pink bridal was quoted around $7500.
Talk about paying a brand premium..

Yes, but there are other excellent designers as well that don't hike up the prices for their products unnecessarily to the point where it just borders on excessive. I do love his work but don't think it's worth it tbh.

But if he offered his work for more affordable prices, he would lose the crowd who would shell out $1000 for a formal outfit and who wants that? Plus, it works on another level too because here we are discussing Umar Sayeed and not Shumaila from Phase 5 even if she might have great karigars and designs too. And lets face it, if we could easily afford an Umar Sayeed, I don't think there's anyone here who would say no to one of his outfits, just like if you could afford a $30,000 Hermes bag, you wouldn't opt for a knock off from China. Couture costs money. His skills and eye as a designer costs money. You might be able to replicate the fabric and Kaam but not whats inside his head. That's what you're paying for.
The bottom line is, the general populace ie you and I- we're not his target market. We go to Shumaila ;)
