When, if ever, have you felt complete satisfaction for yourself? What was the event that led to it?
Mine actually happened just yesterday, when this organization that takes homeless kids of the streets and finds them sort of like “big brothers”, well i have been a part of this privately funded organization. Yesterday i met this kid around 13, parents died when he was 5, been living in shelters and “boys homes” ever since. He was put for adoption but ran away from his adopted parents, reason was “they are too damn strict”. So i was sitting there talking to this kid yesterday and he tells me he has never seen the ocean except on tv, and has always dreamed of swimming in its waves. I knew right then i was going to take this kid to the beach today, despite his probation officer’s restrictions. It was a pain getting permission from the county services, but i finally managed it, and it was all worth it when he first saw the ocean and tears rolled down his cheeks and he hugged me and said “Thanks you”. Believe me people i didn’t know what satisfaction is until that moment, when i knew i had made a huge difference in someone’s life, its undoubtly the ultimate joy.
By the way the kid’s name is Chris, and he is a very sharp kid, with some rough edges will even out over time. I took him to a desi restuarant for lunch, and he loved the food, and as im typing this he is sitting here with me and is saying “hello” to all you guppies.
p.s. he wants me to post his pic, so look for it soon.

*I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.
*That myth is more potent than history.
*That dreams are more powerful than facts.
*That hope always triumphs over experience.
*That laughter is the only cure for grief.
*And I believe that love is stronger than death.
that was very touching kaka malang. I was deeply moved. I wish more of us would get chances to do something like that for the unfortunate, and at the same time realize how thankful we should be for what Allah has given us, and in return we should make someone else’s life a little easier, even for a day.
Thanks you all, i dont get to see him again until next weekend, but i will pass on your regards to him :)
I am gonna take him to a car show next week, he is really getting into cars, especially customizing after he saw me put on a body kit on my friend's car, i wonder why? ;)
He is also very curious about Islam, and i am always telling him something about it. Since the whole concept of religion is new to him.
kingshah: thanks for the compliment bro, but im doing nothing extraordinary, just doing what we are put on this earth do.
Sehar: there is plenty of charitable work you can do.......check around in shelters/clinics etc etc..
Chances are not handed out, but have to be created.
Muzna: thanks, very nice to hear about your nephew's contributions.:)
A job well done. A good deed makes its way in the eyes of Allah SWT. And I am sure what u did for the kid, he will remember for the rest of his life. And someday it might inspire him to do such things for others as well.
