Re: ULTI
I’ll start…
Dear…very few can pull this one off, IMO.
Jaanu/Jaani…![]()
And recently I heard jaan ji. What the heck?!? Is ji really a necessary addition to the jaan. Blech!

You know why I’m laughing,

Re: ULTI
redvelvet, I thought you were sick dear. ![]()
Re: ULTI
Jaan - Jaanu puke
and these days the word "hon" "sweetie" are driving me mad too ..
Re: ULTI
Baby, but kudos to Beiber for creating a whole career out of this one word.
Jigar, luckily haven't heard this in real life ever!
Sajan, sajana, some other variations of this word, courtesy of bollywood's gyrating bimbos and pimps
Hmm...I think I hate all of these terms of endearment. Only time jaan is acceptable is when used for Ammi jaan and Abba jaan.

You are so lucky to have never to have heard this one used in real life! I LOATHE it!!!! A guy I knew used to call his besties jigar and I wanted to tell him how lame he sounded.
Hun/hon are like nails on a chalkboard for me as well.
I'll fess to using jaan - by it's reserved for my babies and I actually say "meri jaan."

Yikes! I feel for you. I have only heard jigar on tv and it's got such overt homo vibes, though nothing wrong with that, but when the user is saying it without being aware of it, it just doesnt sit right with me.
Re: ULTI
*meri jaan
jigar
dear
*It more depends to whom you are referring to. I think *jigar *is ok among guys. meri jaan can be used for love one. But I dont see any bad feeling with dear too. ![]()
Re: ULTI
jaan…jaanu…these make me cringe every single time…
dear is so…so…patronizing.
how about “shonu”…uff!! ![]()
Re: ULTI
how about more shaa'iraana andaaz e taaKhaatub...jaise:
jaan-e-man
jaan-e-jaaN
jaan-e-tamanna
and more generic ones like:
GuRiyaa Raanii
shanno manno
moToooooooooooo [only if she is patli dubli]
Re: ULTI
Let's not mistake shair'aana with over the top pretentious and ulti-inducing.
Re: ULTI
There's nothing wrong with baby. I like baby. :(
Re: ULTI
Especially when it’s the Beiber saying “baby,” right? ![]()
Re: ULTI
No. ![]()
Re: ULTI
RV my dear, this is a brilliant thread. You really do have a knack for picking the right topics jaani ji.I hate the term hubby. I don’t know why. It kind of reminds me of a valley girl airhead.
Why would you want to be called “baby” by another woman? Doesn’t make sense.
Re: ULTI
Dear and daaaaaaarling!
Re: ULTI
People need to stop hating on jaan/jaanu/jaani. ![]()
