Ullu ka Patha

Re: Ullu ka Patha

hmm wht does this thread has to do with health and relationships :konfused:

makes me think who were the mods in those days

back to the topic

ulllo ka pahta: basically its a curse word which actually offends a person’s father. So basically it calls ur father stupid (i could be wrong :halo: )

Re: Ullu ka Patha

The exact meaning is "Son of Ullu".
The other meaning of Patha is "muscle" in Punjabi but in this phrase (or curse), its not used as muscle.
got it!

Re: Ullu ka Patha

I think all of you need to check the "Feroz'ul Lughat", Patha means right hand / brilliant student etc when it comes to not attached to body.

Dictionary even says, Ullu ka patha = Ulla ka sha'gird (student of Ullu).

What my conclusion is, we as easterns think that Ullu is a bewaqoof bird and cannot teach reasons to its students, so its students will even be more foolish than Ullu itself is, so we call "Ulla ka patha" means even more foolish than an Ullu.

Re: Ullu ka Patha

BTW, in Punjabi, patha also means young son, so I dont know u mean to say

Ulla ka pahta (urdu)

or

Ulla da patha. (punjabi)

Re: Ullu ka Patha

so its okay and consider acceptable if call someone Ullo ka kaan?

Thats still appropriate.. Isn't it?

Re: Ullu ka Patha

I have also heard Ullu da chakha. Wonder what that is?!
