actually when it comes to junon salman ahmed is a doctor, and from what I know about ali, he is an excellent strategist
I am not expecting ulemas to be experts in all fields, but why cant some aalim specialize in religion and economics, another on religion and history, another on religion and physics?
I would argue that even when they are ālernedā in their own field, its is a very narrow view. majority of them do not have good insights into other schools of thought, as I said they drink te koolaid of whichever school of thought the madrassa belonged to and are les sof aalims and more of prorammed speakers, repeating like parrots what was stuffed in their heads.
and there is a need for research, it took years for scholasr to find some common ground on IVF, wy, because they could not comprehend medicine..
Nothing wrong with that and thats the way most scholars would probably be in the years to come.
Which is why Madrassa alims (so called Alims) have no standard by religion or literacy. What I see Ulema don't understand the point that Allah SWT did not send the Quran as a replacement for the human braain or to put it out of commission, this is somewhat my issue with Ulemas.
No comments since I do not know much about these fertilization techniques.
If you read Holy Quran with understanding, you will come to know it gives clear hints to all knowledges including Science.
But Ulemah of now a days are portraying Science as enemy of Islam. Science is just a knowledge, not complete but I didnot find it against Islam. Now a days modern Science follows Quran.
Bhai this is not because they do not understand the new frontiers of knowledge.
Any person who has done Phd gets equipped with the tools of conducting research and break new frontiers, he understands where to look to find answers if he stumbles across a problem, That is why new multidisciplinary issues are being pursued. The problem is that Ulemas just like the medieval priests think that their control over religion will finish once people will start to look for themselves. They feel just like a business monoply is threatened by advent of a new big player. this big player is "questioning and reasoning" which is a fundamental part of quest of knowledge and this is not un-islamic as well. It was a norm in those days once Islam was at its peak. Only once our ulemas stopped "Aql" and started "Naql" we lost. We closed the doors of ijtehad and believed that all the solutions of Imams of past are valid today, here we faltered.
Each and every madrasa in major cities of Pakistan
What i am talking of thoes Ulma
is that
these literate people study in normal universities
and after completion of thoes come back to their own madrasas
so with both knowledge
they also write their thesis
and its a necessary for 8 year course of Aalim to write thesis
and mostly this courses are completed by people who already have done
medicine , Master and PHDs
and these days people like these are lot in numbers
No AALim is against science
rather science is helping to propagate islam
The problem we have is that
we donot distinguished between AAlim and Molvi
Molvi is just like a diploma holder and AAlim is like a scholar
and these Molvi ( Most of them ) start calling them Aalim
and including thoes like Aalim online call them self Aalim
and as a result their comes the greatest misconception
you say
i suggest you to study
Quran and modern science
a debate by Dr Zakri Nayak
and then tells us are they portraying Science as enemy of Islam or friend of islam , working for islam
Any person who has done Phd gets equipped with the tools of conducting research and break new frontiers, he understands where to look to find answers if he stumbles across a problem, That is why new multidisciplinary issues are being pursued. .
thats why people like
Dr Zakir Nayak and Ahmad Deedat focuses more on literate people to come on towards Islam
i would also like to mention that
Although i have great conflicts with some thoughts of Tableegi Jammat
but still i like them in the sense that by virtue of them
many many scholars from different aspects come towards islam and have searched on islamic prospects in their fields and that helps to flurish more islam
