Ulema against ‘Talibanisation’???

Altaf appeals to Ulema to stand united, denounce ‘Talibanisation’

Although i dono’t trust Altaf Hussain and his words at all, it was refreshing to see Ulema criticising Sufi Mohammad’s controversial statements. This is exactly what we need, we need more and more Aalims to speak against Sufi Mohammed who made his intentions clear that his traget isn’t just Swat but whole Pakistan.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder and chief Altaf Hussain has appealed to the Ulema of all schools of thought to be united and play their due role against “the so-called Shariah of the Taliban” which they are implementing on the basis of guns. “The Nizam-e-Adl is the beginning of Talibanisation,” he added.

Hussain was addressing an Ulema and Mashaikh Convention organised on Sunday by his party. Before the convention concluded, a resolution was unanimously passed by the participants, rejecting the Nizam-e-Adl in Swat.

Addressing the convention by telephone from the MQM’s International Secretariat in London, Hussain said that the convention was organised because his party wanted to get the opinion of Ulema of all schools of thought on the situation in Swat. He said that the MQM was not against the Islamic Shariah but it was against the Shariah of Taliban. He observed that the people of the country were not willing to accept the Shariah of the Taliban.

Later, MQM Rabita Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar read out the resolution which was unanimously adopted. The participants of the convention condemned suicide attacks at mosques, imambargahs, check posts of the security forces, and government and private properties.

They observed that Shariat-e-Mohammadi was a complete system and in its presence there is no need for any manmade system. They strongly condemned the killing of Pir Samiullah Shah, Pir Sharifullah Shah, father of Mufti Tajuddin, Iftikhar Habibi and attacks on the shrine of Rehman Baba and other religious personalities and unanimously resolved that any attack, abuse or forced closure of any mosque and shrine was illegal, unjust and forbidden.

Meanwhile, a majority of the Ulema at the convention criticised Sufi Mohammad for terming democracy as “a system of infidelity.” They said that if democracy was a system of infidelity then Ulema including Fazlur Rehman, Samiul Haq, Maudoodi, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, etc, were all infidels because they were struggling for democracy.

The participants also praised the MQM chief for his effort in bringing harmony among various sects.

I do believe that SWAT peace deal was important but we should NOT give blank cheque to these people otherwise whole country will fall to them, they are not showing any intentions of stopping suicide bombings for now. Maulana’s speech was all about about Kaafirs, Kufr, Munafiq, Shariah etc etc. I was expecting more about end of talib activity, dropping illegal weapons but there was hardly any focus on talibans.

Re: Ulema against ‘Talibanisation’???

^^ SWAT peace deal is the beginning of the end of Pakistan to rule over its sovereign territory

Re: Ulema against ‘Talibanisation’???

Right now MQM is the only party in Pakistan that is honest about the surrender of Swat and Malakand to Taliban. All others want to brush aside the Taliban atrocities under the carpet.

However some other sane voices remain:

ISLAMABAD: Co-chairman of the PPP, President Asif Ali Zardari, was given a bone chilling but indirect warning last week that the PPP would not be able to withstand the deadly ghost of the Swat Shariah deal for decades to come.

A senior party leader from Sindh spoke in harsh words apparently against the policies of the prime minister at the PPP parliamentary party meeting but the message was clearly meant for the presidency as he attacked all major decisions taken by President Zardari.

The leader, Nawab Yousuf Talpur, even recalled the controversial role of the PPP in the fall of Dhaka, as he said, even todate some sections of the society in Pakistan blamed the party for its role in breaking up of Pakistan in 1971.

Re: Ulema against ‘Talibanisation’???

The article fails to directly quote or mention the name of any religious scholar who has criticized what the establishment of the Shariah.

The only people i find ranting in this article is Altaf baba and his 40 thieves.

Re: Ulema against ‘Talibanisation’???

I was watching it LIVE yesterday, forgot their names.

Re: Ulema against ‘Talibanisation’???
