UK Visa application - Need your help Guppies/Guppans!

I know this might not be the most appropriate forum to post this but I need more responses to decide. This is the story:

**CASE 1: **

March 2011: Applied for UK Visit Visa
April 2011: Visa rejected since vacation letter from company was unattached
May 2011: Appealed for visa again with company letter
August 2011: Appeal successful letter received (Not the call letter for passport submission)
Today (October 2011): E-mail received which says submit your passport & this ..

"UKBA aim to process allowed appeals within 8 weeks of official notification of the determination. Because we may need additional information or to assess whether there have been any significant changes in your circumstances since the original decision, we have yet to make a final decision on your application. But supplying the information below, making these arrangements and providing your passport as soon as possible will assist us in progressing your case more quickly. There will be no additional charge for this service.

We are able to post date visit visas for up to three months so it is important therefore that you contact us as soon as possible even if you do not intend to travel straight away." *
**
CASE II: **
I called the VISA agency & came to know that it takes an average of 1 month for the visa to come after the passport has been submitted for appeal.

Now the problem is I have to apply for Spouse Settlement Visa at the end of November so that I get it by March 2012.
**
PROBLEM:** I am confused that if I send my passport for the visit visa, my passport may get stuck for a longer period & I wouldn’t be able to apply for the settlement visa. Thus, the wedding will be delayed from March as well. If I don’t submit my passport, this visit visa application may effect my settlement visa application or not?

Send it for processing asap. If you get it before new year, you still will have time for your settlement visa.
