UK registeration!

Hi,

I need your advise. I am a UK resident and my fiancé is on tier 1 visa. We are getting married in Pakistan and coming back.

What steps do we need to take for UK registration and civil marriage and what documents we may need.

Please respond ASAP, I haven’t given much thought on this. So panicking!

  1. Right registering your marriage in the UK is not a legal requirement anymore.

  1. Therefore in your case you and your future wife can register your marriage in uk before you go to pakistan and get married there.

  1. The requirements to register your marriage are showing evidence/proof of (for both of you…one of you must be the british citizen…which is you ali in this case):

your names
addresses
ages
nationalities.

The best would be to get your nikkah done in UK (if you want), register your marriage in UK and then go back to pakistan to get married. your wife will have to apply as your spouse once her tier 1 visa has expired

  1. moreover once your registeration or nikah has been done in the UK. she can apply as your spouse while she is in the UK. That way there is a possibility that she will get her visa while she is int he uk therefore she wouldnot have to wait in pakistan for the decision and she can come back with you after your marriage in pakistan.

  2. or you guys can get married in pakistan, she then applies for the spouse visa and then when she comes here you can register your marriage (which again is not a requirement)
