I may be reading between the lines here, getting a student visa and settlement are 2 very different things, if your hubby get the work permit High skilled etc. that can work out better for both of you, as with this you and him free to work and study without restrictions, and your stay in UK will count towards any future nationality. Student visa will have restrictions on working hours(20 hours per week max), and if you bring your hubby on your dependant visa then he may be able to work for any employer(check the rules now). and student stay doesnt qualify for any future nationality or settlement duration requirement.
Canada - Immigration is faster, easier to find a job (not as many ppl competiting for the same job), less racist than the UK and the Pakistani community here is better. In the UK the Paki community is either too extremist Muslim or totally buck wild...there's no in between. Canadian Pakistani's are moderate and balanced.
Canadians are also NICER people. I went to the UK back in March to visit relatives for the fist time and everything people told me about Europeans is true...they are soooo rude - just like Americans. Its a known fact that Canadians are the most polite.

Thats gross generalisation, every country has own culture, you cant just expect every thing same in every country you go. surely there are differences in Canada and UK. But it must be the very neighbourhood you visited. Brits are very different from rest of Europe. People in north and west are more friendly compared to living in south of UK. They are not very open and stay reserve unlike other european, unless they are your friends.
much of Pak population is hail from Mirpur and other remote countryside in Pakistan, hence the backwardness of such communities.
there is another breed that got here recently as professionals, you may want to spend time with them.
