That is fine everybody has a right to have their weddings and parties their way. But this guy either should have not invited this MP or should have told him up front that it is a segregated wedding. When people of other faith wish to visit our masjid or we invite them , we let them know what we expect out of them and also what should they expect to see when they come visit. Never ever any controversy arose because of following this strategy.
Muslims are under the gun anyway , why create controversies ? That MP also knew very well that many Muslims have segregated parties all the time , but he decided to give a lash and it is fault of this guy who did not spell out to that MP what was expected out of him and what should he be expecting.
i agree the guy shouldve told the mp beforehand what to expect, then there wouldnt have been such a hoo-ha over the whole thing. here in the uk though, the mp was made to look a fool and thats how the story's been played in the media. that he shouldve been more sensitive to cultural differences, so quite surprisingly, the story didnt really create any anti islam propaganda as expected from the media.
