Have been approached by someone suggesting I invest in UK Land? Sounds very interesting.
I was wondering if someone else has the experience and what is the view on this.

Since I am not a UK resident and I have never been to the UK one particular piece of land that I have been offered is in
10 Bidborough Ridge, Bidborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent
I would really appreciate if someone could shed some light or guide me towards some website where I could do some research.
I have a number of questions
Is there any website where I can check/evaluate the price of the land?
Does the government allows or is allowing planning permissions of green field lands? Any government website were I can find out the government stance on giving planning permission on Greenfield lands? [These companies claim that the government is allowing and is more prone as they show those supply demand statistics and the shortfall of the houses that needs to be built.]
How long does it take to get the planning permission?
A brief of the sales pitch goes like this:
UK Population is set to increase by 4.4 million to 65 million by 2016
By 2028 there will be a shortfall of 40 million homes in the UK.
The price of land in the UK(with planning permission ) has grown at a rate towards 1000% since 1983.
2,400 acres of Green Belt lad in UK is being built every year.
Hence buy green belt land now and wait for price to increase or hit the jackpot once you get the planning permission.
I guess the catch is that you have to wait for the planning permission. If it is true that the Green Belt is being built upon and that planning permission are been given on Green belt land that all this holds up.

Its ridiculous.
the question is, regardless of one company being put in administration, did both companies offer the type of investments the initial poster was talking about? thats all he was talking about..
later discussion turned into one of teh companies going in adminstration. now unkless somone is a complete moron and does not understand that the word 'some' means more than one..actually multiple..then what can people do.
I may get my lawyer to get a letter saying that making such a ridiculous assumption is an infringement on my freedom of speech.
No worries, lawyer's just doing their job, clearing up misunderstandings before they start. But yes, it is annoying that they would track down this post and go through all the trouble.
I guess Big Brother is a lawyer, and he's certainly watching.
WELL uk is not same as poland or any part, This UK land investments busted last year, they had office in my office building.
but stay away from land buying in UK, while you can buy the land in UK very cheap, wanna know the reason?? cause that land cant be used for any purpose, ie you have the piece of land but you can have single brick on it. :)
Planning laws are very strict in UK, new developments mostly taken by the large companies and they get permission from govt in bulk even after submitting plans to regenerate the whole area. as many areas are green declared areas or conservation areas, NO development is possible for individual houses.
So when buying land in UK or europe, land with permission to build will be 100 times higher than the land without permission to build anything. so its not like Pakistan you buy land and it will go higher in few years time, a £10000 pound plot may be same or less value as it will be not very usefull.
however some rare single plot in a already developed housing may get permission to build and its value can shoot up once it has building permission 100 times on the day. but to get such permission or plot 1 in 100000 chance i would say.
there are two three types of land type declared in UK . Green Field, Brown Field, no building what so ever n green field, brown field in an non conservation area can be developed again mostly by large company building in bulk.
My sister in Kuwait was showing off a lot when she came to Pakistan last year telling they have bought land in UK (north of london). approx 45 mins drive. Then both husband and wife spent money traveling to UK this year and were shown their piece of land. Took pictures etc. Then went to Europe, etc. spent a lot of money.
While I read this form, I am sure they got ripped off as well! Bad luck!
My brother in law tries to show him as one only on planet earth and always looses money :)
