We will do our best not to “get you wrong” lolz (just kidding).
nothing wrong or unusual about emphasis on memorizing the Holy Quran because its the way of life for Muslims.
Its as important as getting a degree or graduating at a university if not more important.
The paradox is that in our culture we (here i am only talking about Pakistan) tend to send those children to Madrassas or Hifz e Quran schools who have failed in regular schoold.
I know that not all the children who are not good learners are sent to religions schools but alot of them are send because they were not good in learning at a regular school.
Another problem is the way they teach at Madrassas or Hifz e Quran schools. There is a very tough regime there (I think its not as tough in UK) and the teachers are very strict. That
should not be allowed and children should be given choice to memorize the Quran and to have religious education. Best is when it goes hand in hand.
One should teach the children about religion and worldly life. But life most things that fail in life…where there is no balance things go wrong there.
Anyhow i think i am now even confusing myself lolz so i stop.
