UK House Arrest Legislation and Civil Liberties - the time to act is now

I am extremely concerned with Labour’s determination and fervour in getting
house arrest legislation passed this week under the Terrorism Act. The
papers are full of debate explaining the activities in the commons. Since the passing of the Terrorism Act, legislation has paved the way for detention of suspects with minimal proof available to the public for their conviction. 2001 to present day, Belmarsh prison has seen hundreds of Muslims being imprisoned without a fair trial under Suspicion of Terrorism and nobody has said anything!

As a Muslim, I am shocked and appalled to know of the capture of ‘terror
suspects’ from the Muslim community who have been imprisoned without a proper hearing in a court of law. Some people who I knew to be law-abiding citizens were hassled and even beaten by the anti-terror police when the raids took place a few months ago. I thought one of the pillars of democracy was the people’s faith in the judicial system of the country. Unfortunately, the fact that these detainees, and
many more in Belmarsh prison have not gone through a rigorous judicial process leaves me to believe that this present day government is breaking the legs of democracy and will suffer a great deal in the next upcoming election, as far as the £2.5 million block Muslim vote is concerned in this country.

The House Arrest legislation confirms Labour’s determination to continue with the war against terror with little sensitivity for civil liberties. In summary, the government wishes to leave the decision to house arrest or not with the government and not with a judge or a judicial process. As a UK tax-paying citizen I feel disgusted and terrorised by this government’s determination to place myself and my fellow Muslim terror suspects under house arrest without going through a fair judicial process in a court of law. It has all the callings of a police state.

I urge all Britons to express their opinion to their local MPs, bombarding them with the Muslim opinion on the government’s intentions. It is important that a piece of legislation, which affects our civil liberties so much, be so quickly passed. The time to act, as you can appreciate, is now. And I hope you will share this concern with others on your mailing lists.

I have written a strong letter to my MP and I hope you will do the same. You can locate your local MP’s contact details by inputting your postcode here http://www.locata.co.uk/commons/.

Let’s voice our opinion now, always thinking think globally and acting locally.

Is'nt this the same Labour Government whose gutless prime minister recently said and i quote*""I will tell the House what else I think-that there has not been a bigger supporter of the state of Israel than this Government and this Prime Minister." The Prime Minister Tony Blair said on 23.2.2005 *

Why you want to write to kuffars who say such things in support of the squatter israelies!

I think Bush's poodle is talking too much now days. Don't worry his countrymen will shut him up by deciding his fate in upcoming elections.

Re: UK House Arrest Legislation and Civil Liberties - the time to act is now

^ aren't you glad you have a democracy where people can do that?

contrast that to what will have to happen in the system that ak47 professes

Re: UK House Arrest Legislation and Civil Liberties - the time to act is now

We have democracy in America but Bush is still President. Go figure!

Just because you dont like Bush does not mean that he cannot be democratically elected.

Re: UK House Arrest Legislation and Civil Liberties - the time to act is now

I got email today stating that the only 2 muslim MPs in Britain voted for the latest Government legislation which this topic is about, this same legislation which has been condemned by human right groups and civil liberties organisations.

This law, which could see people arrested and place under permanent house arrest, without allowing them to test the evidence in court, in the manner of totalitarian governments, has been bitterly opposed by many people. Those who are loyal to principals of justice and fairness have spoken strongly, such that many have challenged it.

If this is true it just shows the muslim MPs even if they are 2 or 200 there loyalty is to the Kufr Government they have absolutly no principles or loyalty to the ummah at all.

Re: UK House Arrest Legislation and Civil Liberties - the time to act is now

well one of them is gay, but as much as I would like to agree, the MP does represent their constituency and has the responsibility to make sure that his opinion is based on that. The problem is very deep rooted, many back benchers don't even know if this legislation is wrong or not and because it only affects the 'minorities' they vote yes or no depending on the debates in the commons.

Mushi i know these members of parliment are after benefit but thier not stupid to get into parliment as an MP you have to be crooked and sneaky. They know about this legislation, if me or you average person knows what this is about you can definetly say these MP's know what its about.
