I was hoping one of our UK guppies/guppans would open a thread for it but I guess Ramadan is keeping everyone tied up.
We all know what an election means in today’s era especially in the west. We can see how Trump single-handedly is all set all ready to rather destroy this planet than saving it. On the other hand liberal Canadian PM has a whole different approach.
UK is a very important country for many reasons.
So a question for everyone: What do you think about these elections?
And a question for UK residents: Who did you rout/vote for and why?
I voted for labour, not for corbyn but for what the Labour Party stands for. I just want the conservatives out!!!
But to be honest if Nigel was still the leader of UKIP then I maybe would of voted for UKIP solely becouse I voted out of the EU based on his version of brexit, not for the mess we have now!
Anyway let’s see what the results bring us tomnorrow morning, we can only hope and pray we wake up to a red labour run Britain and not another 5 years of blue conservative gloom
Well I’m from London, and London has always been pro labour, overall I’m not sure, it’s a close call… sadly due to the lack of intelligent and compassionate people in the uk conservatives may just win, but if the young all get up and vote for there future then labour should win. I haven’t got my hopes up but we can only wait and see…
Also from outside cons will seem stronger as the media are supporting them very strongly. The media has made it a habit to nit pick every little thing the Labour Party stands for, the media have been paid to show cons in a good light, however if you listen to the “comman man” down the street he or she will say there voting labour, however, like I said, London is always pro labour, it’s outside London that people are stupid and selfish…
I think thats pretty much the story of all major cities. Same thing happened here. All cities are liberal, democrats and voted heavily for clinton. Its the suburbs and country side who are exactly opposite.
i have always voted labour but today I voted Conservatives not because of my love for that party but due to my huge disappointment with Corbyn. The guy has destroyed Labour party and a good defeat to labour will mean we will be able to get rid of Corbyn for good. My constituency was a marginal hold for labour last time around so hopefully it will go conservative. For me it was a case of do we get rid of May or Corbyn and it was corbyn i want to get rid of and his mad momentum followers who have taken over and wrecked the party.
Well thank you very much for potentially trying to screw are NHS and children schooling…
If you were so passionate about defeating Corbyn then why didn’t you just vote lib dem? Or better still not vote at all?!?!
So you have been brainwashed by the media that Corbyn will be a disaster as a leader, even though his never had a chance to lead before and instead you have voted for a thatcher who was pushed on us, in the hope she will negotiate a good brexit deal and instead she has used this as an opportunity to get 5 more years of leadership, if may wasn’t forced on us, would you have really voted for her to be in?
So you are happy for are NHS, social security, human rights and education to go down the drain? You are happy to have increased taxes and pensioners suffer even more? You are happy for the disabled to be forced to work and have there benefits cut? All becouse you don’t like Corbyn? Very well done…
spoken like a true corbynista. Let me tell you I dont know how old you are but I have been a member of Labour party since 1971. So please keep all this momentum rubbish to yourself. Your hero promised anything to everyone without realising how it will be paid off and on top of that the brilliant Diane as home secretary, says it all. I will be happy if labour wins tonight but sad that a nincompoop will be PM who wont last a year. Rhetoric is fine on the streets that is all he has been doing all his life, leadership is quite something different something he is void off.
isnt it amazing that all the things you have said while being true the Labour party is in no state to sweep the elections? why is that? Because we don’t have a competent leader. If we had a leader we would have wiped the cons out like we did in 1997, now we are struggling, why?
Like I said before, I voted labour for labour not for Corbyn, they could of had a hamster elected as pm for labour and I still would have voted labour becouse there policies are not a threat to the poor or working people… I couldn’t give a hoot about Corbyn I just want a better life for my family and myself.
As a young person living under the conservatives is a night mare, I still haven’t got a foot on the property ladder and have no hope of doing so in the near future if cons are still in.
I’m sure all of Corbyns “promises” won’t materialise, and that’s not a worry, however I’m certain all of mays promises will materialise and that IS a worry…
We are struggling because the media has brainwashed the masses, also the young won’t get off there back sides and vote, I went to the polling station today at 1.30 and there was not one young person apart from me, and I’m not even that young (27) everyone else’s was 40+… no under 18-25 year old to be seen…
Anyway we voted for are reasons, let’s sit back and hope for the best…
Tuned in to BBC this morning but there was no news about elections. I was really surprised but after a little while they announced the reminder that they are not going to discuss elections today as the law forbids them to do so. I think thats pretty cool
I and all my known freshies voted for labour as has been the case since 2003! Our constituency was won by SK since long. This time it was Doctor Rosina Khan.
SK is being promoted as labour leader and next PM by London Labour Party members,
