I use Noorangi Ubtan and love it. Alhamdulillah It's never given me or my sisters/friends any problems. We bought ours in bulk (4 years ago) from Pakistan and still use it.

i applying ubtan vigourously on the body for a week and then going for a professional wax session before the wedding is the best waxing i have ever gotten done...
How did the ubtan part help with the waxing?

because of all of the kneading when u put it on.. and rub rub rub... i think it exfoliated the skin really well... and made it glow...

ubtan ingredients are
basin
lil bit turmeric..haldi
oatmeal
sandal powder
naranjain or dried lemon peel
badam ka boora
all should b in powder form mix them and apply on face with water or milk, chameli oil(chameli ka tail) is bestcoz milk or oil create less scratches on the face.
Seven Herbal ubtan is also bestand useful.....personal experience of both ubtans

Pardon my ignorance! I have never used ubtan because I used to think it was just something that girls use it before the wedding to make their skin a lighter color. But I guess it is something else. Can someone tells me what is ubtan exactly and what are the benefits of using it? Thanks!

I was looking online to learn more about the benefits of using it and I found this on ammas dot com beauty advice website. Note by posting this Im not vouching for the quality her recipe, just posting what I found, use if you like! I think I will try the body massage..one of these days..
I have 2 ubtan recipes, one for your body and one for your face. When massaged into your skin on a regular basis (daily is best, when possible!) you will notice more glowing and lovely skin. I recommend doing the body massage in the morning right before you wash and the facial massage at night before bed, but do whatever is convenient for you!
FULL BODY GENERAL BEAUTY MASSAGE UBTAN FORMULA 4 Tbsp. chickpea flour 2 Tbsp. almond oil 1 tsp. turmeric 1 tsp. fenugreek powder 1 tsp. wheat germ oil 1/4 tsp. rose oil Mix all ingredients and use this made fresh each day for 40 days to massage the entire body. After the massage take a warm shower to remove.
FACIAL MASSAGE UBTAN FORMULA 1 Tbsp. almond paste 1 Tbsp. cashew paste 1-1/2 tsp. pistachio paste 1 Tbsp. malai (skim off boiled milk) 1 Tbsp. wheat germ oil 1 Tbsp. rose water 1/4 cup red lentil paste chickpea flour (to thicken) Grind the nuts in a blender on high until pulverized, then add remaining ingredients. Use as a facial massage. Let dry then wash it off. Pat face dry with a clean towel.

Ok this might seem really stupid question but did u use this over your whole body...I really wanna get my skin glowing... how long does it usually take and do u leave it on for a bit or just rub rub rub as you go and wash off instantly... ???

If by B'ham, you mean, Birmingham, UK, try the local desi Indian/ Pakistani stores. They are sure to have it. Birmingham has a lot of desis.

lately ive been using shahi ubtan and skin looks amazinn so bright. i mixed it with milk.

Try more stores and also ask if they can get it for you, some of them do that. You can try the London stores, if you are able to go there or alternatively try the method of making it yourself as has been posted in teh thread. But I am sure you should be able to get some at teh stores. Its available at ebay too, but a bit pricey (the cream forms seem reasonably priced though). Here’s the link
