The United Arab Emirates has begun issuing “stapled visas” to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir residents, including its “Prime Minister” Sardar Attique Ahmed, a media report said on Thursday. The practice of issuing “stapled visas” is new and previously visas were stamped as usual on the passports.
“Prime Minister” Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, who holds a Pakistani diplomatic passport, was issued a stapled visit visa by the UAE Embassy in Islamabad on Tuesday, the report said.
Pakistani law does not allow any Kashmiri political party to exist, if they do not support the idea that Kashmir is an intergral part of Pakistan. Would Pakistanis have issues with stapled visa as they “claim” to support right of self determination for Kashmiris??
what's wrong with that source? it's a decent newspaper, not a rag
I dont consider Indian media very reliable in general. Except of course when you want to know who's staring next to Sharukh in the next Bollywood flick.
Indian media is nothing but a mouth piece for Indian politicians.
^good question i also wanted to know if that was really the case but
*The constitution of Azad Kashmir poses major impediments towards genuine democracy as it bars all those parties and individuals from participating in the political process who do not support the idea of
Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan and hence precludes all those who are in favor of Kashmiri independence. To fail to support, or fail to appear to support Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan means to invite the
ire of Pakistan’s abusive intelligence agencies and its military. It also entails inviting political persecution, such as ineligibility to contest elections or to seek employment with any government institution, or the curtailing of basic freedom of expression. (These
issues are explored in more detail in Chapters IV and V, below.)* http://www.kashmiri.info/index2.php?option=com_content&do_pdf=1&id=1050
let me look for the actual constitution of ajk though
Freedom of association.- (1) Subject to this Act, every State subject
shall have the right to form association or unions, subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interest of morality or public order.
**(2) No person or political party in Azad Jammu and Kashmir shall be permitted to propagate against, or take part in activities prejudicial or detrimental to, the ideology of the State’s accession to Pakistan**
*Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council.- (1)There shall be an Azad Jammu and
Kashmir Council consisting of
(a)
The Prime Minister of Pakistan;
(b)
The President;
(c)
Five Members to be nominated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan from time to time from amongst Federal Minister and members of Parliament;
(d)
The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir or a person
nominated by him; and
(e)
Six members to be elected by the Assembly from amongst state subjects in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote.
(2) The Prime Minister of Pakistan shall be the Chairman of the Council…
^that's what it looks like looking at the ajk constitution, darn though, i really never realized how slickly it was written in favor of the pak government and in favor of the ideology of "kashmir banega pakistan".
Tum LoGh qabza choR do - kaam k Azaad bi ho ja’aiN gey
Kashmir is Pakistan with 95% of the Muslims - living in valley
not that but it does say : Indian citizens from other states and women from Jammu & Kashmir who marry men from other states can not purchase land or property in Jammu & Kashmir
take your pick do you want peace&progress of all of south asia or this tactic of playing games with the sentiments of the people of both sides of j&k? It seems so one sided and unfair looking at the constitution of ajk to the Indian side of J&K, it's trickery, if pakistanis/pak government really cared for kashmiri muslims of the kashmir valley(b/c other parts(jammu and ladakh) don't want secession from india) then they would stop this charade and concentrate on progress of the entire region of south asia-peace&progress&trade&success of the entire region
people of ajk aren’t even ethnic kashmiris, they are mostly made up of mirpuris, gujjars, jats, rajputs and a similar ethnic group make up as jammuites, i’ve said it before in the other countless threads on “kashmir” most people of jammu and ladakh even if they are muslim don’t support the breaking up of J&K nor do they support secession. the poor of the region just want to be free of militants and armed forces/crpf officers. with all this vast corruption and falsification of “azaadi” it only increases the suffering of everybody in j&K(indian side), still looking at how the ajk constitution is written, i guess the two sides will fight to the death, nobody shall give up their sides, hey even i don’t think india should give up it’s side since its j&k constitution is unfair to the rest of the people of india.
eh, the internet warriors can go on and on about this “kashmir issue”, nothing will change
maybe there will be a south asian union and peace/progress 60 years from now…i’ll hope
