U.S.-Pakistan relations on a collision course

Re: U.S.-Pakistan relations on a collision course

I like Firenze's points. We suffering from resource misallocation, internal corruption, and lawlessness. These problems are structural and internal. I think that is easy to lay blame on the US, India and others, but I ask: Why is our society fragmenting and the economy under performing? It is due to the LACK of leadership within Pakistan.

We have politicians who have sold themselves out to the highest bidders (both internal and external), our military leadership is still frozen in myopic anti-India doctrines, when the rest of the world has moved on. I also admire Turkey for what they have accomplished. After being rebuffed from the EU, they have turned inwards and eastwards. Trade, prosperity, and security MUST be our main objective. Why pull out the beggars bowl to the US, when we can profit from opening markets and trade?

Pakistan's strength lies in its resilient people -- who have survived natural calamities, internal violence and still managed keep producing. We need to decentralize the Federation, support politicians that are sincere, and tame the military agenda. I am not willing to give up on Quaid E Azam's Pakistan, and neither should you.

Allah swt has blessed Pakistan with every treasure … yet we are suffering like this!!!
cuz nobody in govt is sincere with Pakistan!! they hav no concern abt where Pakistan will be standing in next 10 years … we hav got so many resources that if we utilize them properly … we wouldn’t be dependant on any other country!
