U.S. General in Baghdad Faints at Press Conference

Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt who is the top U.S. military spokesman in Iraq briefly lost consciousness during a news conference Saturday, bumping his face into a podium microphone. He left the room for a period but returned smiling and answered more questions.

The General earlier this week advised viewers “to turn the channel” away from what he perceived as biased reporting of some local media networks with respect reporting the siege at Fallujah.

Kimmitt had left the podium for a few minutes earlier in the press conference, which was broadcast live internationally. He returned, looking pale, to take more questions.

Just after answering a question, Kimmitt leaned toward Senor and whispered, “I gotta go.”

Senor nodded and said, “OK,” and then told reporters the next question would be the last.

As he listened to the question, Kimmitt’s eyes rolled upward and he began leaning forward into the podium. The podium’s small black microphone struck him on the right side of the mouth. After a few seconds leaning against the microphone, he slumped backward but remained standing.

Senor stepped toward him and said, “You all right?”

“No, I’m not,” Kimmitt mumbled. Two aides approached the podium and led him out a side door.

Senor continued answering questions. About 15 minutes later, Kimmitt returned again and resumed answering questions. When one reporter prefaced a question by saying, “I hope you’re feeling better,” Kimmitt smiled but offered no explanation.

Yeah I saw on tv when he sort of fainted.

:rotfl: The man looks shifty even when he is awake, so I guess he must have got tired from telling such bare-faced lies?

Instead of looking for WMD'S he should look for smelling salts!

Well the burden of standing on two feet is quite heavy....wouldnt make jokes on that, but that is surely a sign of US of As weaknesses...the Afghan, Iraq occupation.

What was this General who collapsed like a fairy was his name kermitt!

The Amerikkkan policy in Iraq is looking more of a muppet show every day!

You dont expect this stuff from battle field 'leaders' - these generals. Even our Mushy has nerves of steel, this guy probably needs a a vacation. The 'insurgents' must have been overjoyed to see how 'strong' the American miltary leadership is.

Lets not be silly. Maybe he had some medical problems. And don't even comapre american generals with pakistani blowed up ballons that call themselves generals. Every american officer is smart and fit, while the pakistani generals all have huge stomachs. Don't they have any regulations in pakistan army about physical fitness, or do they only apply to the jawans?

I'm not comparing stomachs. Comparing guts and the ability to handle situations. People with 'medical problems' are usually not put on such critical posts. Get your thought process right.

Could be an undiagnosed medical problem. Anyway, why are pakistan generals usually so overweight?

‘undiagnosed medical problem’ :hehe:

do u have a stomach fetish? Or I guess its a symptom of your obsessive streak? Whatever it is, go talk about it somewhere else…a shrink would definitely help.

No, just wondering why their is no physical fitness requirements for our great leaders of the army.
