I graduated recently B.S. and seem to be having a really hard time finding work in my field.
Any member who can help me out here??

Did you try www.dice.com ?

Wadi, where are you located? and which skool did you graduate from? tell me the details and i might be helpful in finding you a job.

Munni: Oh boy, have i tried all those Internet JOb boards :<< Not even a single phone call or interview attributed to them.
Thanx tho.

Pumpkin : I'm in Houston, B.S in C.S from Univ. of Houston. I have OPT right now (not sure if you know what it is) and I would ultimately need an H1 (1 year down the road).

Thanks again.

Wadi, send me your resume. I think i can be helpful to you.

PumpKin Thanx dude... I am willing to relocate and all so that's not a problem.

Wadi,

Even though the US economy is coming out of the recession, the job market for CS majors is still very tight.

One suggestion is that you look for job in 'not so popular' cities. For instance you can try some places in New Orleans(LA), Birmingham(AL), Nashville(TN) etc.

Secondly, the recent survey shows that nearly 90% of the jobs were still given out to people with an inside company reverence. So, your old friends are your best bet.

And, apply for ALL jobs!!!

Lastly, as you are on OPT, you should keep your options open and as a backup start working towards getting admission for the masters.

These days, its pretty bad situation regarding jobs. I would suggest you to make full use of your school’s career ficilities. Attend info sessions and carrer fairs in your school. Upload your resume to their career web site.

Check www.brassring.com they do have fairs all over the US.

And as ahmedjee said, keep MS as your backup plan.

Pumpkin: i really appreciate it. Could you give me a bit more info. on what i should expect from the call/Job?

Ahmadjee: yes sir I have also kept a Plan B and all those measures are a part of it.

As for the career center at the university, they are pretty much swamped also and believe me all the career fairs i've gone to, i just get the same answer " we are not looking to hire right now in your field but give us your resume and we will consider you for the summer of 2020 blah blah blah" you know the usual.
