WASHINGTON [MENL] – The United States has raised the prospect of a military invasion of Saudi Arabia.
The response could include the deployment of three U.S. Army divisions backed by fighter-jets and airborne early-warning and alert aircraft. In all, the U.S.-led mission could include up to 300,000 troops.
The House Armed Services Committee was briefed on the prospect of a Saudi coup and U.S. response during a hearing on Oct. 26. The scenario was outlined by Michael O’Hanlon, a senior fellow of the Brookings Institution, who cited a Saudi coup as one of several threats to the United States.

“How should the United States respond if a coup, presumably fundamentalist in nature, overthrows the royal family in Saudi Arabia?” O’Hanlon asked. “Such a result would raise the specter of major disruption to the oil economy.” **

US has been, probably, feeding the coupers for a while. But the invasion into Saudi would not be a good thing. For whatever reasons US army enters Saudi Arabia, it will anger the whole muslim world.

may be there is, when I was there I used to hear about some ‘underground/secret’ works/groups, but those groups were mainly like Tableeghi Jamaat (politically useless). There were some who had access to ammunition as well as we have seen bombs/explosion in Riyadh, but at that time such groups were rare, may be the plan is gaining momentum.

Much later, about 200 years from now when the US empire is gone, historians will write that there was a civilization in the west known as the Americans, whose people became so arrogant that they wanted to opress the whole world. Much like Alexander and the Egyptians who came before us, this too shall pass. After all British Empire did end also.

Iraq is operating successfully as a democratic country and there is no violence, 2000 US marines didn’t die, Oct 2005 was a very peaceful month for US in Iraq.

resistance is normal, look at the bigger picture they are sitting in the middle of the field, they are launching operations against Iran and Syria from Iraq,
2000 marines died, big deal, dont believe everything you read or watch on TV. US has enough resources and man power to start another war in the middle east.

but you should know that Saudi Arabia also possess the “heart” ;). US already has bases in Saudi and much control of its resources, it doesn’t need to “attack” for that reason to begin with.
