To those of you who live in the U.S. and want to see change- GO VOTE ON THE 7TH! Everybody talks about how they want to see change in U.S. foreign policy, and though the government will probably never be perfect, it can be changed- so go change it. ![]()

VOTE REPUBLICAN
Re: U.S. Citizens
Good advice!
Lucky you Americans get a choice that us Pakistani's don't :(
Re: U.S. Citizens
The democrats have always been much more pro-India and anti-Pakistan than the republicans have.
Re: U.S. Citizens
I feel Pakistan will be in a rough ride if Democrats win....
Democrats are always much more pro-india than pro-pakistan and I fear all the economic benefit that we have enjoyed will go down once they come into office...

Re: U.S. Citizens
question
so if a regime is good for america, but not good for pakistan. and the other one is not good for america but good for Pakistan. Being an american of pakistani descent which one would you support, which one would your kids support.
makes u think does it not...
Re: U.S. Citizens
this is why social conditioning is so important. kids born in amreeka/uk should be taught at home the important things that ensure the same voting pattern over generations. it might be propaganda/brain washing but its for a good cause.
Re: U.S. Citizens
Ravage I may be missing your point here. its not a question of brain washing or voting by a specific pattern at all. I am asking a very simple question.
as a US citizen, if you had to pick a candidate who was good for US but was not too supportive of pakistan, would you vote for him, versus someone who is great for pakistan but bad for local issues?
I am trying to see at what point in people's life one takes priority over the other. which loyalties take preference?
Re: U.S. Citizens
oh, i was talking about how you mentioned the way children would grow up to vote.
If the choice is framed as such, and if the candidate is really really really bad for local issues I would go for the guy who is better for local issues but bad for Pakistan, because the one senator/mp's impact is much more on local issues than foreign policy. However I would advocate within the community to vote in a way that tends to favour Pakistan as long as we dont vote for any persons truly demonstrably inept on local issues.
Re: U.S. Citizens
ravage, dude you have to simplify it for me, I guess I am a little slow this morning. he whoel children voting pattern thing, thanks..(really I am not trying to be cheeky or anything here)
Ravage, good point on the voting approach. Thats the way it should be.
Re: U.S. Citizens
sorry, im slow today too. you mentioned what your kids would support, i assumed you meant what political attitudes they would grow up to have (as opposed to how I now understand your post, ie what is good for the kids). What I meant was that IMO it is important to shape political attitudes at home.
