Will India be the third most powerful nation in world by 2025.? That is the prediction of US report.
According to a new official report of the US, India has escalated to third position in the list of the most powerful countries of the world after US and China. The report has also declared India as the fourth most powerful bloc in the World after US, China and the European Union.
A significant American report on global governance has described India as the “third most powerful nation” in the world, after the U.S. and China. The report also predicted that India will continue to strengthen by 2025.
The report compiles a list of the world’s most powerful countries and regions, titled “Global Governance 2025,” which is a follow-up to a similar 2008 report. The Global Governance report was jointly published by the National Intelligence Council (NIC) and the European Union’s Institute for Security Studies (EUISS).
In the year 2010, the report says America dominates with much as 22 percent of the world’s power, while China wields 12 percent.
India tied for third place with the European Union at 8 percent. However, since EU is a bloc of countries, India remained the third most powerful individual country in the world.
According to the international futures model, over the next decade and a half China, India and Brazil will increase their share of the global power. The U.S. will remain the powerful country by 2025, although its share in the global power is projected to fall to 18 percent.
The report was prepared using the insights provided by a group of international experts who gave their views on fictionalized scenarios that spanned the upcoming 15 years.

when ever i hear the word india first thing that comes in my mind is a rat being burnt at stake and an army of naxel/maoists insurgents partying around it and chanting songs of glory.
Well i dont mind a strong and powerfull India so long as it stands for right and liberates Kashmir from it's imperial dreams.
But Realistically India is far from the powerhouse it tries to be... Unlike China India is not self sufficient and more to the point India is very fragile just like Pakistan right now.
Both rely too much on outside help. I'm suprised Russia is being written out of the game, becuase the Ruskies have been very much resurgent in recent years.
Also Iran is becoming a tough nut in the Middle East too and is also a very strong nation one which is very under rated but which is a hidden giant.

Frankly I expect China to have such internal upheaval within 30 years that their system of government will become unstable for a while. They may still be 2nd but not anywhere close to the US and not that far away from India.

for some people "hating India" is their real identity, even more important than "loving Pakistan". because they have given up hope for their own country and the only way to achive any mental peace is to start running everyone else down

its not an issue of hating india, I am actually quite fond of india and indians (minus certain policies and the minority of extremist jackasses among the population there) and more of an issue of this report where the basis of it is some unnamed 'experts' waxing lyrical on some fictional scenarios...thus the quote from waynes world about fictional and hypothetical scenarios. :)
