U.S.A student Visa

Anyone Know what is the requirement for getting Student Visa for studying in U.S.A?

Admission to the US educational institution.
Financial means to support such studies.
Ties back home to prove that the person will leave US, once done with his/her studies.

what else is required? criminal check? health records certicates?

Furqan, your biggest woe at this point would be getting the security clearance from US Dept. Of Justice and be able to leave Pak bound for US. Admission to the university itself is such a big hurdle.

Furqan, I got the following from a US gov website…

*A Special Note for Canadian Citizens

Citizens of Canada are not required to obtain a U.S. visa to enter the United States. However, a U.S. immigration official will inspect your papers either at a preinspection site in Canada or upon entry into the United States. You must have with you proof of Canadian citizenship, your admission letter to the university you plan to attend, your Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 or DS-2019), and proof of financial support that corresponds to the information on your Certificate of Eligibility. It is essential that you enter the United States in the appropriate status, so be sure to have complete documentation with you.*

Screw US..stay in Canada...pwetty please?
